Al-Nour

Al-Nour was launched on May 9, 1988 and obtained its license in 1999. It broadcasts from Beirut and represents Hezbollah’s political and religious beliefs. It is part of the Lebanese Communication Group. Its coverage reaches all Lebanese territories as well as northern Palestine and the Syrian coast. It broadcasts 24 hours a day on the following frequencies: 91.7, 91.9, and 92.3 FM. The radio station launched its website (http://www.alnour.com.lb/) on May 9, 1999, and incorporated continuous live online broadcasting in February 2006. During the July 2006 war, the Israeli Air Force bombed the building that housed the radio’s offices and studios in a residential area of the southern suburbs of Beirut. However, the radio resumed its live broadcasting seconds afterwards from another undisclosed location, and it continued doing so even after the war. The general director is Youssef Al-Zein, the news director is Abbas Al-Chaker, and Hanan Husseini is the general program director. It provides news bulletins, as well as political, economic, social programs and interviews.
